Founded by the Sisters of St Clare — a new girls' school in Porthcawl, rooted in faith and community.
Welcomed evacuees during World War II, expanding into boarding. Became St Clare's Convent School.
Flourished as a respected co-educational Catholic boarding and day school. Recognised nationally as a high-quality independent school across four decades of modernisation.
Evolved into a day school, focusing resources on high-quality teaching, pastoral care and co-curricular provision.
The Sisters of St Clare retired. The school became co-educational and non-selective — renamed St Clare's School.
Significant investment in the campus, with student achievement consistently above national averages.
